Allianz Insurance was the recipient of two accolades at the 26th British Insurance Awards yesterday (18 November).
The award ceremony was held virtually for the first time in its history, with comedian John Widdecombe co-hosting the event.
The insurance giant won ‘The Major Loss Award’, alongside Sedgewick, for a joint project following a flash flood event on a university campus.
Jon Dye, the company’s CEO, was awarded the ‘Insurance Personality of the Year Award’ for his part in overseeing the acquisition and integration of LV= and Legal and General.
Graham Gibson, the group’s chief claims officer, said: “Winning the Major Loss Award with Sedgwick Is a fantastic result and demonstrates the importance of proactive cooperation.
“The complexity and scale of this case made it one of – if not the – most challenging major loss cases our team has faced to date.”
He added: “Its success would not have been possible were it not for the willingness of all parties to collaborate so closely and do everything in their power to bring about the best outcome for the customer. The innovative approach and determination to make this a success resulted in exactly that.”
