The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has announced that Jonathan Cumpstey has been appointed chair of the group’s motor panel, whilst Nik Springthorpe takes up the role of deputy chair.
Cumpstey, group compliance officer at A-Plan Group, has been the deputy chair since January 2017, he succeeds Keith Frampton who passed away in January 2021.
Joining the panel in 2013, he has played a key role in helping the panel represent the interests of BIBA members and their customers on all motor insurance related matters.
He said: “Keith did a fantastic job chairing the panel and did so much sterling work on behalf of members. I’m keen to continue that work and honour the commitment and dedication that he gave to BIBA members for so long.”
Springthorpe, CEO of One Call, has been a member of the panel since June 2012. He commented that there are so many issues affecting the motor insurance market right now and that the panel has “a busy agenda ahead”.
Graeme Trudgill, executive director, added: “Jonathan and Nik have contributed greatly to the success of the Motor Panel in recent years and I am delighted that they will continue to do so as chair and deputy.
“The motor panel provides a crucial arena for brokers to contribute and shape our engagement with the issues affecting motor insurance today and future developments such as autonomous vehicles, new mobility solutions and vehicle ownership and use trends.”
