GG Insurance reveals US expansion

London-based GG Insurance Services, a specialist provider of insurance solutions to the games industry, has announced its expansion to the US.

The gaming insurance company was launched in the UK in 2018 after “seeing a requirement” for specialist gaming solutions within the market.

Following its “growing success” the firm said it recently extended its business overseas and opened a fully licensed office in America. As part of the expansion, GG Insurance Services has collaborated with IGDA – The International Game Developers Association, the world’s largest non-profit membership organisation serving all individuals who create games.

Philip Wildman, GG Insurance Services director, said: “Although we already have clients internationally, I am delighted to announce the recent opening of our new fully licenced office in Houston, Texas. This means we are now able to better assist our clients in the USA, with a wider range of options and more flexible international support from our local team.

“Also, we are excited to have officially joined the IGDA as a partner member. The support they already give the industry is invaluable, and we hope to complement this further by offering comprehensive protection to their members with our industry-specific insurance solutions. I appreciate insurance is not always at the top of people’s agenda, but it is crucial that any games company is getting appropriate cover.”

He added: “This industry has specialist risks and needs that a standard policy often does not address. If you are considering it for the first time or have an existing policy elsewhere, we are here and happy to answer any questions & guide you through the process to ensure you and your business satisfy any contractual requirements and are fully protected.”

GG Insurance Services is part of the General and Medical Group which has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, as well as direct links with Lloyd’s of London.

Its policies have been designed especially for the games market and range from Game Developers Insurance, to cover for Esports teams and Intellectual Property Insurance.
