Jackson Financial completes demerger from Prudential

The firm said it will now operate as an independent company, and is expected to commence ‘regular way’ trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 20 September 2021

Jackson Financial has announced that it has completed its separation from Prudential through a demerger.

The firm said it will now operate as an independent company, and is expected to commence “regular way” trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 20 September 2021.

The demerger was first announced in January 2021 with the group then subsequently appointing Laura Prieskorn as its CEO and Marcia Wadsten, previously senior VP and chief actuary, as its CFO.

Prieskorn said: “Today marks a key milestone for Jackson, which wouldn’t have been possible without our associates’ unrelenting dedication to our mission of helping people achieve financial freedom for life.

“As a leader in the U.S. retail annuity market, we are entering this new chapter on solid financial footing, with a focused strategy to drive growth and create value for our customers, associates and shareholders as a public company.”
