QBE and Corporé sign three-year rehab deal

As a business insurance specialist, QBE European Operations offers a range of insurance products from the standard suite of property, casualty and motor to the specialist financial lines, marine and energy

QBE and rehabilitation services provider Corporé, part of handl Group, have signed a three-year deal which started in October and will see Corporé providing case management and treatment services to all QBE’s injured parties with major and catastrophic injury claims.

QBE European Operations is part of QBE Insurance Group and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. QBE’s gross written premium for the year ended 31 December 2020 was $14.7bn (£10.8bn).

As a business insurance specialist, QBE European Operations offers a range of insurance products from the standard suite of property, casualty and motor to the specialist financial lines, marine and energy. All are tailored to the individual needs of our small, medium and large customer base.

Adam Shelverton, Rehabilitation Manager, QBE said: “A market tender exercise is a great way for QBE to assess the rehabilitation providers in the market and ensure we select the best providers for QBE and our customers. Corporé impressed QBE with their innovation, governance and customer focus and consequently they were successful in joining the QBE Rehabilitation panel.”

Mark Stirrup, MD of Liverpool-based Corporé, explained that Corporé has “pioneered” the use of digital treatment products for injured parties and these and other specialist clinical tools will be used to deliver the “best possible care” for injured parties insured by QBE.

He said: “It is a hugely important contract win for us, and it’s great to be working with QBE, especially as the team there has an excellent reputation for providing industry-leading rehabilitation services to their policyholders and they undertook a stringent supplier selection process.

“Winning such a prestigious rehabilitation contract reinforces our position as one of the leading defendant rehabilitation companies in the UK, and is a vote of confidence in the recent investments we have made, such as us being first to bring SilverCloud, the digital psychological treatment software used by the NHS, and Phio, the musculoskeletal digital treatment product, to the UK personal injury market.”
