Sabre Insurance non-executive director steps down

While the company recruits for Barton’s replacement, Ian Clark, Sabre’s independent non-executive director, will chair the Audit Committee.

Sabre Insurance Group plc has announced that Catherine Barton, non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee, has stepped down from the board last Friday.

Sabre said Barton’s departure comes as she pursues an executive opportunity in the insurance industry.

The board has reportedly begun a process to recruit an additional non-executive director and in the meantime, subject to regulatory approval, Ian Clark will chair the Audit committee.

Clark is an independent non-executive director for the group, having been appointed as a non-executive director of Sabre Insurance Group plc in September 2017. Additionally, he has been a non-executive director of Sabre Insurance Company Limited since May 2014.

In addition, Clark is a non-executive director at Aviva Insurance Limited and chair of Mighty Quin Consulting Limited, where he provides strategic advice within the insurance industry.

Andy Pomfret, company chair, said: “I would like to thank Catherine for her work at Sabre, notably her valuable contributions to the Board and hard work chairing the Audit Committee.

“Since joining the Board in 2017, Catherine has provided significant support to the Company, notably with her insurance expertise. We wish her all the best in the future.”
