As part of the deal, Covéa’s pet insurance customers will now permanently have access to free video vet appointments via their mobile devices, enabling them to receive advice regarding the health of their animals from home.
The partnership follows a successful trial last year, with Covea insurance stating that the “service has proved invaluable to customers and will continue to provide increased safety as well as convenience”.
Tracey Smith, head of insurtech and Fintech at Covéa Insurance, said: “We’re really excited about our partnership with FirstVet. As well as being a great customer service enhancement, it also signifies our capability and desire to partner with tech start-ups, where we’re seeing increasing growth opportunities.”
David Prien, FirstVet CEO and co-founder, added: “We are delighted to be working with Covéa Insurance. Through this partnership we can help more pet owners receive the remote care they need for their pets. This is especially important during the current pandemic and a convenience we believe customers will continue to want well beyond too.”
