The insurer is now encouraging city workers to keep a close eye on laptops and phones, after it reported a 100% surge in laptop thefts over the summer (June to July) compared to spring (March to April).
Meanwhile, mobile phone theft also saw an uplift in claims, with a 143% increase reported in the same period.
According to Urban Jungle, with hybrid working increasingly becoming the norm, thefts have risen as people are “out-and-about more frequently with their personal valuables”.
