NTT DATA has appointed former Deloitte veteran Dean Gulzar as its new head of insurance to help lead the firm’s growth in the UK.
Gulzar has worked in the financial services and insurance industry for over 20 years, much of it with consulting firms Deloitte and PwC.
At PwC, Gulzar was a partner in the US advisory business and led part of its insurance business out of Chicago. At Deloitte, he worked with clients in insurance and prior to that, he led Genpact’s EMEA and Asia Pac insurance business.
The firm added that in his new role Gulzar will aim to drive new client acquisitions within the insurance sector, as well as continuing to ensure NTT DATA “provides a high quality of service to existing clients”.
Gulzar said: “The first thing that struck me about NTT DATA was that its company values very much align to my own. It focuses on building the right culture to help its people thrive, champions diversity and inclusion, and believes in business based on people rather than processes.
“This year has been challenging for the insurance sector. It has reminded us of the fast-changing nature of risk, and the need to be nimble and act quickly.”
He added: “The good news is that technology has a huge part to play in future success in this industry. It enables our insurance clients to be agile in times of change, and it allows us to innovate so our clients stay ahead of the competition.
“I’m excited to help NTT DATA further build its offering, and to continue to partner with our clients to ensure they achieve their business goals.”
