Arch Insurance International has announced the appointment of Silvia Martinez as its new general counsel, with immediate effect.
Martinez brings with her “extensive” corporate governance knowledge and expertise overseeing complex corporate and capital market transactions, with more than 10 years of legal experience gained in both private practice and in-house roles.
In her new role, she will report to Kirsten Valder, chief administrative officer, and be based in London.
Prior to joining the company, Martinez worked for Aspen Insurance Group where she was group general counsel and company secretary, as well as a member of the group executive committee.
Previous roles have included working as an associate at law firms Willkie Farr and Gallagher LLP and Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP, as well as serving as a deputy city attorney for the Oakland City Attorney’s Office.
