The Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) has announced that Keith Richards, the group’s chief membership officer (CMO) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), will be stepping down from his role on 30 June 2021.
Appointed CEO of the PFS in 2013, Richards has been responsible for overseeing membership growth, and building the society’s financial performance and strength.
After the CII’s strategic manifesto in November 2016, Richards took on the role of managing director of engagement, which was renamed as CMO.
During this time, he created three membership societies for Insurance Broking, Claims and Underwriting, as well as relaunched the Society of Mortgage Professionals.
In recent years, Richards has overseen the CII’s expansion into international markets, creating a fully-fledged Chartered Institute in Hong Kong and launching PFS Asia in 2020.
Sian Fisher, CEO of the CII, said: “Keith has been a committed and much valued colleague who has contributed significantly to the CII change programme in the last eight years. We all wish him every success for the future.”
