The Insurance Institute of London has announced that Julian Enoizi, the CEO of Pool Re, has been appointed as its new president for 2021-2022.
Enoizi succeeds Anthony Baldwin, CEO, AIG UK, in the role of president.
Commenting on his appointment, Enoizi said: “I feel humbled to have been appointed President of the IIL for the coming year. Under Anthony’s stewardship, the IIL has deftly transitioned to an almost entirely virtual learning environment over the last 12 months.
“I look forward to working with Chris and the wider Institute to embed this new, more accessible, and increasingly popular programme of digital events throughout the year ahead.”
He confirmed that his theme for this year will be “putting a Premium on Change; finding new ways to insure the most acute risks facing society today by embracing diversity, renewing our commitment to R&D, and forging bolder partnerships with other industries and the public sector to unlock the collective investment we need to secure our industry’s future”.
He added: “The CII and its Institutes play a unique role in unifying and cultivating our industry, and as the largest of these Institutes, the IIL occupies a position of responsibility during what I believe to be a defining moment for the insurance sector.”
Lay said: “I’m delighted to take on the position of Deputy President and have the opportunity to serve the Insurance Institute of London and support its vital work. I’d like to thank the Vice Presidents and Council for electing me. I’d also like to thank Anthony for his excellent leadership, and to congratulate Julian on his election.
“At this time of immense challenge and opportunities, our industry has a critical role to play in ensuring we can capture the possibilities ahead. I look forward to working with the members and Council to maintain the vibrancy and success of the Institute.”
