KPMG UK appoints head of insurance practice

Jones has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, and he will now serve KPMG’s insurance clients.

KPMG UK has appointed Trevor Jones as the new head of its insurance practice, replacing Simon Ranger who will now focus on leading the vice chairs’ office.

In his new role, Jones will lead KPMG’s team serving clients across the insurance spectrum, including insurers, reinsurers and brokers.

With over 30 years of insurance experience, Jones has spent 24 of these years with KPMG where he previously led the firm’s UK actuarial practice.

Additionally, he has been group chief actuary of a global insurer with operating entities across Europe, Asia and the US.

He has led assignments on financial reporting, capital, Solvency II and transaction related assignments.

KPMG said Jones’ “extensive” experience across the insurance industry means he has a “deep understanding” of the current issues impacting UK and global insurers.

Karim Haji, EMA and UK head of financial services at KPMG, said: “I would like to congratulate Jones on his appointment and thank Simon for all his achievements over the last three years. Jones brings a wealth of experience having joined our insurance team over 24 years ago and is well respected among our colleagues and clients.

“I am also delighted to welcome Huw Evans who joins us this week, which will further strengthen our offering and presence in the insurance market.”

Jones added: “I am excited to be starting this new role. KPMG has world-class expertise and talent in its insurance practice and I am looking forward to working with the team to help our clients navigate the challenges and opportunities facing the sector today.”
