The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has announced the appointment of six new board members to the group.
The additions provide the board with experience in a range of areas, such as digital trading, underwriting leadership, strategy, corporate development, data analysis, and syndicate management.
Three female additions are included in the new board member announcement, namely Kate Markham, CEO at Hiscox’s London market, Rachel Turk, head of corporate development at Beazley, and Sarah Willmont, joint active underwriter at Canopius.
Hugh Brennan, CEO at RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management, Dominick Hoare, group CUO at Munich Re Syndicate, and Chris Smelt, executive director at Managing Agency Partners comprise the remaining recent additions.
Sheila Cameron, chief executive at the LMA, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome our highly-regarded and exceptionally capable new members, who bring a wealth of expertise that will be invaluable to the LMA and the wider market.”
By almost doubling the board’s female representation to seven, the association has set about its plans to achieve 30% of female or ethnic minority board members by the end of 2023.
Cameron added: “We are also delighted that, with these appointments, the LMA is closing in on its diversity target, with more than a quarter of our board now made up of women.
“Today’s announcement marks a further important step toward achieving a diverse board, in support of broader efforts to attain greater diversity at a market level, and we remain determined to reach our target by the end of 2023.”
