The London Market Group (LMG) has announced the appointment of Caroline Wagstaff as the company’s permanent CEO.
Wagstaff’s addition follows a sixth month period from April to September where she carried out the role on a temporary basis.
Bringing three decades of industry experience to the position, Wagstaff has acted as a director at Luther Pendragon since 2012.
Elsewhere, she has previously served as managing director at Lucid Communication, partner at College Hill, and director of marketing at Lloyd’s of London.
Matthew Moore, chairman at LMG, said that Wagstaff’s permanent appointment will see her bringing a “longer-term view” to her goals, which will encompass “big issues such as cultural change, climate change and technology change” in the London market.
Wagstaff added: “It has been fascinating to work with the LMG and all its members over the last six months, and this period has given me a great opportunity to grow into the role of CEO for the group, as well as begin to understand what our agenda needs to be over the coming years.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with insurers, brokers, Lloyd’s, the government and the regulator to help grow the UK insurance sector, and further build its international reputation.”
