PwC has announced the appointment of Jim Bichard as its new global insurance leader.
He will succeed the role from Stephen O’Hearn, who is retiring from the firm after 38 years of service.
Bichard has worked at PwC for 23 years where he has remained in its insurance segment. He most recently served as the leader of its UK Insurance practice with responsibility for all of the firm’s services to insurance clients across various industries.
For the majority of his tenure, Bichard has worked in the firm’s New York and London offices, serving insurance and reinsurance clients across the world.
During his time with PwC, he has also held numerous leadership roles across the UK and EMEA, including PwC’s London Market and Broking practice, as well as its Solvency II and regulatory team.
His new position as global insurance leader will be effective from 1 July 2020.
John Garvey, global financial services leader at PwC, said: “We are so pleased to have Jim as our new global insurance leader. He brings proven business building experience and deep knowledge of the insurance industry.
“He is well qualified to assist our clients’ transformation journeys in the sector, while driving consistent improvement in the quality and impact of our entire portfolio of services.”
