Kuchinski will replace Patrick Tiernan, managing director of UK commercial lines, global corporate, and specialty at Aviva.
A member of the IUA’s board since 2019, Kuchinski was elected as chairman of the association two weeks ago, setting in motion his appointment at the LMG.
Matthew Moore, chair of the London Market, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rob to the board.
“He will bring us both a tremendous depth of experience in the company market and his perspective as chairman of the IUA, both of which will be vital in helping our understanding of this key part of the London market and in helping us to support all or stakeholders.”
As the largest global hub for commercial and specialty risk, the LMG employs more than 47,000 and has paid over £139bn in claims in the last six years.
The group is supported by the International Underwriting Association of London (IUA), Lloyd’s of London, the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) and the London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA).
