Lloyd’s announces new appointments in UK branch

Mark Cooper has been appointed as head of its UK branch, with David Jackson appointed as senior underwriter, and Kirstie Keate as underwriting manager

Lloyd’s Insurance Company has announced that Mark Cooper has been appointed as head of its UK branch, effective 1 November, while David Jackson has been appointed as senior underwriting manager, and Kirstie Keate appointed as underwriting manager.

Cooper will retain his current position as head of European branches and chief market development officer for the company.

He replaces Keith Stern, who has been the UK branch manager since its establishment in 2018. Stern will continue to focus on his role as Regional Manager for the UK and Ireland.

Jackson and Keate will take on their roles effective 6 December.

Cooper said: “I am delighted to take on the role of leading the UK branch of LIC in its future developments. I would also like to thank Keith for his stewardship of the LIC branch and hard work in setting up and overseeing the branch.”

Patrick Tiernan, chief of markets, Lloyd’s said: “I have been hugely impressed by the amount of progress made by Lloyd’s Insurance Company within such a short space of time and encouraged by the support and engagement of the market. These announcements mark another important milestone for Lloyd’s in Europe.”
